“I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow living creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer it, for I shall not pass this way again.”
-Stephen Grellet

This quote from Stephen Grellet had no serious competition when it came time to choose those fateful words to be printed beneath my high school senior yearbook photo some fifteen years ago. With reflection on the young woman who chose this quote and the journey she’s navigated in the passing time, I’ve come to understand with greater clarity it was really all those years ago that the seeds of my soul’s ascension were sown. Although at the time I knew not how or when, I sensed deep within that my truest purpose in this life would be to live in the service of others. If one had been a spectator along the way, they may not have surmised this was the direction my path was headed. However, it was in rounding some of the darkest bends and trekking the most trying personal mountains (collectively these experiences are often referred to as the ‘dark night of the soul’) that I came to know my strengths and my light. I was gently nudged time and time again in the direction my soul’s truest purpose.

I became an Occupational Therapist in my late twenties and continue to find fulfillment in assisting children and adults along their personal journeys toward achieving their goals and living their best and most functional lives. As most helping professionals, parents and caregivers know, without looking after ourselves and replenishing our own wells of energy we cannot be of our greatest service to others. I found self-care to be one of the most important tools in both my personal and professional tool boxes. I fell in love with the deep inner peace I embodied through a faithful mindfulness practice. As I mindfully attended to the nuances of my own energy field, I began to seek deeper levels of understanding and healing. The time-honored Japanese tradition of Reiki quickly became an invaluable part of my self-care repertoire.

Everything is energy and energy is everything. All living things are comprised of cells, and cells are merely microscopic balls of energy. Reiki is a common energy balancing practice utilized to cleanse and harmonize flow and function within the human energy field. It is believed that energy flows through 7 chakras in the body. Chakras, by definition, are energy centers from the base of the spine to the crown of the head that help regulate all vital processes including organ and immune system function, emotional well-being and mental clarity.

As energy flows freely through the chakras we are more apt to experience optimal health and feelings of wellness. When blockages are present in any one of the chakras we can experience feelings of physical, mental and emotional imbalance or disease. It was through experiencing the benefits of Reiki first hand that I came to realize just how important regularly tending to the human energy field really is.

My motivation to study Reiki and become an attuned Reiki Master and spiritual guide is directly tied to my soul’s truest intention to live a life of service. It is my mission to inspire soulful awareness of the beautifully dynamic unseen human essence and serve as a channel for divine guidance and light for all who seek greater harmony and peace in their lives. It would be an honor to hold space for you and assist you in balancing your own energy as together we navigate our way home.

Namaste.
